Practice Pitching to Lower your Scores and Improve your Full Swing

Shawna Elliott demonstrates the key setup, grip, and swing techniques to help your pitching practice flow through to your full swing.

Director of Instruction, Rhodes Ranch GC

Pitching is a great skill to practice if you only had a few minutes and great place to start your pre-round warm up and practice session. It’s also a mini version of your full swing 😉

The key with pitching is the set up. Weight or pressure will favor your lead foot to ensure a quiet lower body. The arms are soft and hands move slightly down the grip to give you more control and better posture for a shorter swing

Allow the club to swing away to a 1/2 back position. Checkpoint would be the right hand in the handshake position. The hands and how you grip the club influences the face of the club…so make sure your grip and hand position is set up for success!

A great thought is thumbs 👍 up to thumbs 👍 up which allows the club to set and swing freely to catch the ball ⛳️

Happy practicing and keep uncovering your greatness!
