Ardglass Golf Course is an 18 hole links course in a natural setting hugging the northeast coast of Ireland, with stunning views, unique golf holes and memorable people. The course is less than 2 hours from Dublin, under an hour from Belfast and only 30 minutes from the world-renowned Royal County Down golf links at Newcastle. Our course is a true test of golf. With the almost ever-present wind capable of wreaking havoc from any quarter; the hard fairways and the small firm greens, it is just about impossible to play “yardage based” golf on links. The Irish Sea, which can be seen from all 18 tees and greens, comes into play on no fewer than 8 holes. This is just one of the memorable and unique features of the links at Ardglass Golf Club. We have the oldest building used as a golf club house in the world. The present building started its existence as a fortified warehouse that operated as a safe haven for 15th century importers and exporters. The initial construction of the castle started no later than 1405 and by the 18th century it was converted into a family home, with a new extension being completed around 1788. However, as the harbour was in use by the Norman knight, Sir John De Courcy, at the time of his invasion of Ireland in 1177, it is entirely possible that the clubhouse sits on even earlier footings. Today we are fortunate to have this distinctive building as our clubhouse.

Our 18-hole parkland golf course is steeped in history and is recognised as one of the best hidden gems on the island of Ireland. The Desmond Castle (1200 AD) is a magnificent backdrop to the 1st and 15th greens, while the ruins of the Franciscan Abbey (1464 AD) dominate the centre of the course. Golfing societies and all visitors are very welcome, and will find the tree-lined fairways a serious golfing challenge. Our course and catering staff are here to look after your every need in a friendly manner and to ensure that your visit is a pleasant and memorable one. Coaching at Dale Hill is provided by John Tolliday PGA Professional and Director of Golf and Sam Durling PGA Professional. No matter how proficient you may be at your game, there are times when everyone wants to take some time out to improve their golfing technique. Dale Hill’s Professional staff will assist you in improving your game whatever your aims may be. All individual lessons carried out by Dale Hill Professionals will include Video analysis; this will be followed up with an email after your lesson with your swing for you to refer back to at any time. The one to one tuition can take place on the practise ground or on the golf course. John and Sam will instruct you on all areas of your game. Whether it is a first lesson for a beginner or fine-tuning for an advanced player our aim is to improve our pupils golf as well as their understanding and enjoyment of the game.

We offer individual golf tuition, on-course golf tuition, junior golf tuition, and 3 and 5-day residential Golf Schools. Individual golf tuition provides the perfect environment for beginners to develop their game. You'll receive one on one expert golf tuition tailored to your individual needs, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. For the more experienced golfer, there's the chance to correct persistent faults, improving the individual aspects of your game and developing consistency to help achieve lower scoring. Our experienced team of PGA professionals caters for everybody at any level – individuals, groups, families and clinics for corporate golf days.

Our mission is to help golfers shoot lower scores through structured coaching and training programmes with on-course performance at the forefront of our mind. We aim to enhance every player’s golfing experience by helping them to develop the skills and strategies needed to excel. In order for us to achieve our goals we must understand the process of developing skills and transferring them to the golf course Our coaching programme has one very clear goal - guaranteed improvement. We have a set structure that follows a holistic player development model. You will attend a wide variety of sessions that have been specifically designed to help you improve. Every golfer is different; taking this into account, we have carefully crafted the coaching sessions so that you get the most from your time with us. Our main coaching base is at Rudding Park in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. With technology from Trackman 4, Foresight Sports and Swing Catalyst, an 18 bay driving range with Trackman range for practice, short game practice facilities, six-hole short course, 18 hole championship golf course, not to mention 2 indoor simulation bays, we have everything you could possibly need.
